Alumna of Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Sciences chosen for Gandhi- King fellows

Manipal, 23rd June 2022: Ms. Lavanya NK, a proud alumna of the Gandhian Centre for Philosophical Arts and Sciences (GCPAS), Manipal Academy of Higher Education, has been chosen for the prestigious Gandhi-King Fellowship being awarded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, USA. Among the ten Indians chosen for this fellowship, she is the only one from Karnataka. She will be traveling to the University of Alabama, USA, soon.
Ms. Lavanya NK was a student of MA Ecosophical Aesthetics at GCPAS from 2019 to 2021. She is currently working at Nalanda Way foundation, Chennai, an art organization. The GCPAS offers three only-of-their-kind programmes- MA (Ecosophical Aesthetics), MA (Art and Peace Studies), and BA (Aesthetics and Peace Studies), specially designed to meet the needs of contemporary times.
The goal of the Gandhi-King Fellowship is to inspire and develop a network of aspiring young civic leaders from India and the USA to work together to advance civil rights, social justice, and inclusion locally, nationally, and internationally by exploring the history and legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
