MIT Manipal Hosts Orientation Program: Alumnus and Godrej CEO Shares Inspiring Homecoming Reflections

The Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, organized its Orientation Program on 10th July 2025, welcoming new students with a message of inspiration and resilience. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Vishal, a distinguished alumnus from the Mechanical Engineering batch of 1988–1992 and currently the Executive Director and CEO of Godrej Industries.

In his heartfelt address, Mr. Vishal described his visit as an emotional "homecoming to MIT." Reflecting on his student days, he recalled —arriving at MIT as an introvert, growing through challenges, and discovering strength, resilience, and lifelong friendships.

"It’s not about how hard you hit, but how hard you can get hit and still rise again," he said, urging students to embrace learning, take risks, and care for their physical and mental well-being.

To parents, his words were simple yet profound: “Don’t call too often. Give your child the space to grow. Prepare them for the road ahead, not the road for them.”
