October 30, 2025
Guest Lecture at Tampere University, Finland – “Public Health through a Global Lens”.
It was an absolute pleasure for Dr Kumar Sumit (Faculty, Department of Global Public Health Policy and Governance [GPHPG], Prasanna School of Public Health [PSPH], Manipal) to deliver a guest lecture at the Faculty of Public and Global Health, Tampere University, Finland, on October 30, 2025, on the topic “Public Health through a Global Lens.”
Engaging with the bright and inquisitive students, along with the esteemed faculty members, made the session both stimulating and deeply rewarding. The discussions covered a wide range of themes from global health systems and equity challenges to emerging insights in cross-border collaboration and sustainable health solutions.
Tampere University has always held a special place in Dr Kumar Sumit’s professional journey. His first visit there was in February 2018, when he also had the opportunity to teach students. Every interaction since then has deepened his admiration for the university’s commitment to critical thinking, innovation, and international collaboration in public health education.
Dr Kumar Sumit expressed a heartfelt thank you to Dr Subas Neupane and Catarina Ståhle-Nieminen at Tampere University for the warm welcome and all the support. He looks forward to continued collaboration and to witnessing how these aspiring public health professionals contribute to shaping the global health landscape in the years ahead.
