Health Education Committee 2026 Report on International Women's Day Observation

Health Education Committee of the Student Nurses' Association of Manipal College of Nursing (MCON), MAHE, Manipal, in collaboration with the Lions Club Moodubelle, conducted a role play on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2026. A total of seven students from the 6th Semester BSc Nursing actively participated in the health awareness role play.
The programme commenced at 12:00 pm at Hampankatte Palli. The Lions Club President, Ln. Laveena formally welcomed all the members and participants present. This was followed by a role play performed by the 6th Semester MCON students. The role play highlighted important aspects such as menstrual hygiene, signs and symptoms of anaemia and menopause, along with their management, and awareness about breast and cervical cancer.
Following the role play, Mrs. Laveena Barboza, Assistant Professor at MCON and Chairperson of the Health Education Committee, briefed the audience on the key messages of the role play and clarified the doubts raised by the participants during the interaction session.
The Zone Chairman of Lions Club, Ln. Valerian Noronha concluded the programme with a vote of thanks. A total of 30 women benefited from the programme.
The programme contributed towards achieving SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.
