The lecture session on “Long-term care of children at home ventilated with tracheostomy and complex needs: safeguarding adults and children” was held on 03.09.2022 between 3.00 pm & 4.30 pm at the GFATM classroom of MCON. Dr. Toni Bewley, the Adjunct Faculty of MCON and Senior Lecturer, School of Nursing, EdgeHill UK briefed on the financial and emotional burden to the family when the baby is on a ventilator, with their child care example. She said they are using invasive, non-invasive methods, and lifestyle changes when the child is on a ventilator. She also discussed the precautions to be taken during emergencies, taking the disabled child on a world tour, long time medical care assessment, care of children with medical needs, etc.
In total 19 PBBSc, 10 MSc Nursing students from MCON, and four students from EdgeHill University, UK participated in the lecture session.
