Guest lecture on Community Health Nursing Standards, Competencies & Monitoring

The Department of Community Health Nursing, Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE, Manipal, organized a guest lecture on “Community Health Nursing Standards, Competencies & Monitoring” by Ms. Janne Gabrielle Hunsbeth, Faculty, University of Stavanger, Norway, Adjunct Faculty of MCON, MAHE, Manipal, on 23rd March 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The session was conducted at the Manipal College of Nursing, MAHE. This guest lecture was aligned with two key Sustainable Development Goals- SDG 3: Good Health & Well‑Being; SDG 4: Quality Education.
The lecture aimed to strengthen understanding of the professional standards and competencies required in community health nursing practice, as well as highlight effective monitoring mechanisms essential for quality community-based care.
The beneficiaries of this academic session were 1st & 2nd year MSc Nursing students (Community Health Nursing specialty) and faculty members from the Department of Community Health Nursing.
The session enriched participants with updated insights into professional expectations, competency frameworks, and quality assurance measures relevant to community health nursing, supporting both educational and practical skill development.
