Piyush Bharti is an Assistant Professor of Law at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Bengaluru, and a UGC-NET qualified academic specializing in Corporate and Commercial Law. He holds an LL.M. from NALSAR University of Law and a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Chanakya National Law University. His academic interests lie at the intersection of corporate and commercial law artificial intelligence, taxation, and labour law, with a focus on contemporary regulatory challenges in a digital economy. Prior to joining MAHE, he served as an Assistant Professor at NIMS University, Jaipur, where he was the Founding Faculty Convenor of the Centre for Corporate and Commercial Law in collaboration with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He played a key role in strengthening industry-academia engagement and organizing national and international academic initiatives. He has published in reputed Scopus-indexed and UGC-CARE listed journals, contributing to emerging areas such as AI-driven corporate accountability, environmental governance, digital taxation, and labour market transitions. He is also associated with patent applications focusing on AI-enabled compliance and decision-making systems. His academic profile is complemented by presentations at leading institutions, including Royal Holloway, University of London, and participation in national and international conferences. Additionally, he has gained practical legal experience through internships with prominent law firms and senior advocates, working on commercial disputes, arbitration, and regulatory frameworks. His work reflects a commitment to research-driven teaching, interdisciplinary scholarship, and the advancement of legal education in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
