Dr B. Geetha

Assistant Professor

Dr. B. Geetha holds a PhD in Film Studies from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Her research interests include film history, genre cinemas, star studies, film aesthetics, and archival studies. Dr. Geetha is a recipient of the Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Fellowship (2022-2023) in Visual Arts. She has also received a Travel Grant from the UCLA Center for India and South Asia (2023) for her doctoral work on Tamil cinema. Her book chapter on the anti-caste politics of the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018) is part of the anthology titled The Routledge Companion to Caste and Cinema in India (2023). Her academic publications have appeared in journals such as Celebrity Studies, Journal of Cinema and Media Studies, Screen, Critical Collective, and South Asian Review.
