National Oral Pathologist Day – February 25 2020
The Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology in association with the Indian Association of oral and Maxillofacial pathologist celebrated the “National Oral Pathologist day” on February 25 2020. This day was instituted by the Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial pathologists to honour Dr Harnath Manishankar Dholakia, who is the first post graduate teacher in Oral Pathologist of the country by dedicating his birthday (February 25th) as the National Oral Pathologists day. Dr Dholakia stared the first post graduate course in oral pathology at Nair Dental College in 1960. He had served as the Head of the Department of Oral Pathology, MCODS, Manipal from 1982- 1987. He has been actively involved in teaching oral pathology for more than 50 years.
In view of this day. The department organized a collage competition for the third year BDS students with the theme “Oral Pathology in Oral Health care”.
