The 2nd National learning / information centre Convention for Sikkim Manipal University's Distance Education programme was held on the 14th and 15th of December, 2009 in Mysore, India.
Representatives from more than 500 centres across India attended the event. At the event, the Vidyadeep scholarships for deserving students were launched by Brig. (Retd.) Dr. SS Pabla, VC, Sikkim Manipal University and Anil Kumble, brand ambassador of Manipal Education.
Speaking at the event, Anil Kumble said, "SMU-DE is revolutionising distance education in India, providing access and equity to all its students".
